q: Can I book the venue for my wedding/private party?
a: Please contact the ballroom direct on 020 8 692 5130.
q: Do you give ballroom dancing lessons?
a: No but each of our nights starts with a short Modern Jive class for beginners. For other styles contact the Rivoli direct on 020 8 692 5130 and they may be able to help.
q: What should I wear? Do I need to dress up in 50’s clothes?
a: Please dress smartly, but wear clothes that are comfortable to dance in. It can get hot and gentlemen might consider bringing a change of shirt! Shoes – leather soled shoes are best. We don’t recommend gripping soles e.g. trainers. Period clothes are great but definitely not essential.

q: I am bringing a group of friends – can I reserve a table?
a: We have changed our policy and the smaller tables cannot be reserved. One or two of the larger tables may be reserved if you have a particularly large group attending. Speak to Graham on 020 8946 2664.

q: How much is the admission charge?
a: £13 cash or cheque. A 10% booking fee applies for advance tickets which goes to the ticket agency.

q: Do I have to be a member?
a: No. We have relaxed our membership rules.

q: How do I get there and back?
a: We recommend the tfl journey planner. Enter the postcode SE4 2BY and your own. A minicab office is nearby, but we suggest booking your return journey on arrival.

q: Do I need to book tickets in advance?
a: Tickets can be purchased online at www.WeGotTickets.com. We will always have tickets to sell on the door at the start of the night, but it’s possible they may sell out. Tickets bought in advance will be honoured up to 10pm. If you have purchased a ticket in advance and arrive later than 10pm and can’t get in because the venue is full, we will offer you a refund. You must turn up in person to claim a refund.

q: Is there a bar?
a: Yes and on busier nights we will try to have 2 bars open.

q: Are children allowed?
a: Aged 16 and over unless by prior permission. However we would stress that our dance nights are not really aimed at children; anyone under 18 should be supervised by an adult and will not be served at the bar.

q: What about parking?
a: There’s no car park but on-street parking is fairly easy to find.

q: Where is it?
a: Directly opposite Crofton Park overground station in Lewisham. Postcode SE4 2BY. Here’s a map to help you find it.
q: I can’t dance, does it matter?
a: No it doesn’t. Every evening starts with a Modern Jive class aimed at beginners. Come and join in. You’ll soon get the hang of it.
q: I dance lindyhop/jitterbug/swing. Is Jive Party for me?
a: Yes but… not all the music we play is swing-based. However,  the more swing dancing we see going on the more we’ll play.
q: I am a bit of a rock’n'roll purist. Am I going to have a good night or not?
a: You’ll have a great night if you’re fairly easy going about other styles of music too, as we do play a wide variety of music.
q: Do you really go on to 1am? Is it still busy later on?
a: Yes we do, and plenty of people stay, which makes our evenings great value for a night out and a live band.
q: What about security?
a: We employ a team of professional licensed door supervisors. Furthermore we operate a manned cloakroom so you don’t have to leave bags and coats unattended while dancing. However, please don’t bring valuable items along.
q: Can you recommend bands for my private party?
a: We would be glad to do so. Just get in touch.
